 The HRD Ministry, India has planned to set-up 20 new Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) under the 11th 5 year plan, across 20 states in the country.

1. Kindly tell me what is the plan of the HRD Ministry to make these Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) accessible to disabled students and teachers.

2. Kindly tell me what number of seats have been reserved for the disabled and for which category of disability.

3. What are the disabled-friendly infrastructural arrangements planned in the premises?

 It is informed that a proposal to set up new Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) under Private Public Partnership (PPP) mode and an Indian Institute of Information Technology Academy (IIITA) is under consideration of the Government. The details in this regard are being worked out. While working out the details, the interest of the persons with disabilities will be given due consideration.
